Quo Vadis Chapter-a-Day Read-along Schedule Change

For those of you who are reading Quo Vadis as part of the 2021 Chapter-a-Day Read-along, there is an important revision to the schedule. The original schedule was based on the freely available translation by Jeremiah Curtin which has 73 chapters and an epilogue. If you are reading Curtin’s translation then you have nothing to worry about. But if you are reading the translation by W. S. Kuniczak that I recommended, the original schedule will not work for you. Kuniczak broke the longer chapters into smaller segments, so his translation has 87 chapters and an epilogue.

As mentioned above, if you are reading the Curtin translation (or the adapted Curtin translation by James Bell), then you can keep right on reading as you have been. But if you’re reading the Kuniczak translation and if you’re going to be continuing on to the next book, The Hunchback of Notre Dame, then you will want to download and follow the Revised 2021 Chapter a Day Reading Schedule so you can finish on time.

As you can see from the chart below, there are several chapters in the Curtin translation that Kuniczak has divided into small chapters. This means that on certain days readers of Kuniczak will have to read more than one chapter. And since tomorrow is April 30, 2021, Kuniczak readers will need to try catch up by reading chapters 20-26.

I apologize for the confusion and hope it doesn’t cause too much inconvenience for you. I’m grateful to Rick Barry for helping me discover the error.

Here is a chart detailing the differences between the two translations:
