As I wrote about earlier<\/a>, in 2018 I’m going to focus mostly on reading books that have been on my to-be-read shelf for years. However, there are a few books that I want to reread for various reasons, so I’m going to join the Read It Again, Sam 2018 Reading Challenge, hosted by Bev at My Reader’s Block<\/a>. There are four different levels to the challenge as outlined by Bev:<\/p>\n D\u00e9j\u00e0 vu: Reread 4 books I’m sticking with the\u00a0D\u00e9j\u00e0 vu level, rereading four books I haven’t read in a long time.<\/p>\n First, I’m revisiting the first two books of the Brother Cadfael mystery series by Ellis Peters. I have other books in the series that I haven’t read, but it’s been so long since I read the first two that I want to read them again before continuing on.<\/p>\n Another book I’m rereading was recently made available in a new Kindle edition,\u00a0The Dragonbone Chair<\/em>\u00a0by Tad Williams. It’s the first in a terrific fantasy trilogy called\u00a0Memory, Sorrow, and Thorn<\/em>. At least, I remember it being a terrific trilogy. I’ve only read it once, a long time ago, and I’m excited to reread it and find out if it’s as good as I remember.<\/p>\n The fourth and final book for this challenge is\u00a0Only the Ball Was White:\u00a0A History of Legendary Black Players and All-Black Professional Teams.<\/em> I needed a book with the color white in the title for the Color Coded and Monthly Key Word reading challenges, and it’s been about twenty years since I last read this important piece of baseball history by Robert Peterson.<\/p>\n
