When a loved one dies
\ntheir life is changed not ended.
\nThis is a truth of Faith,
\nit is not wishful thinking.<\/p>\n
Those who have gone before us
\nare still alive,
\nbut in a new way.<\/p>\n

Some of them now dwell forever in heaven.
\nNot a boring heaven
\nwhere people recline on clouds, strumming harps;
\nbut a vibrant, joyful heaven,
\nwhere there is fun, laughter,
\nand friendships deeper than one can imagine.<\/p>\n
Where they live
\nthere is no fear,
\nno prejudice,
\nno division,
\nno aching bones or illness.
\nOnly peace,
\nonly joy,
\nonly Love.<\/p>\n
These are the saints,
\nthese are the blessed,
\nthese are the deeply happy,
\nliving life to the full.<\/p>\n
Today we celebrate their joy,
\nwe dance at their victory over suffering,
\nand we sing our praises
\nto the Lord Jesus
\nwho took each of them by the hand,
\nand personally walked them into heaven.<\/p>\n
Some of them the world knows by name:
\nPeter, Catherine, Teresa, John,
\nJames, Ignatius, Francis, Paul,
\nElizabeth, Rose, Anne, Bernadette.<\/p>\n
But some of them are known only to a few:
\na daughter or a son,
\na sister or a brother,
\na mother or a father,
\na wife or a husband.<\/p>\n

Today is the day we remember all the saints,
\nthe known and the unknown.<\/p>\n
Today we remember
\nthat this is our destiny,
\nthis is our call,
\nthis is our life’s ultimate purpose.<\/p>\n
The saints in heaven are alive,
\nand they can’t wait to meet us again.
\nThey watch us from where they are,
\nand they smile on us.<\/p>\n
Speak to them.
\nThey can hear you.
\nThey are no longer bound by distance.
\nAsk them to pray for you.
\nThey will,
\nfor they love you as He loves you;
\nthey are one with Him,
\none Body in Christ.<\/p>\n
These are the saints.
\nThese are the blessed.
\nThese are the deeply happy.
\nLiving life to the full.
\nForever and ever.
\nAmen.<\/p>\n
