I&#8217;ve never done a reading challenge before, but I&#8217;ve enjoyed seeing other bloggers write about their challenges, so I&#8217;m jumping into the fray. Here are the challenges I&#8217;m signing up for this year:<\/p>\n<ul>\n<li><a href=\"http:\/\/www.escapewithdollycas.com\/reading-challenges\/2017-alphabet-soup-reading-challenge\/\">Alphabet Soup Reading Challenge<\/a>\u00a0&#8211; The challenge here is to read 26 books, each beginning with a different letter of the alphabet.<\/li>\n<li><a href=\"https:\/\/karensbooksandchocolate.blogspot.co.uk\/2016\/12\/back-to-classics-2017.html\">Back to the Classics<\/a>\u00a0&#8211; This challenge has readers choose classics in twelve different categories.<\/li>\n<li><a href=\"http:\/\/www.talesofyesterday.co.uk\/2016\/12\/tales-post-british-books-challenge-2017-sign-up\/\">British Books Challenge<\/a>\u00a0&#8211; Books by British authors, plain and simple.<\/li>\n<li><a href=\"https:\/\/myreadersblock.blogspot.com\/2016\/11\/color-coded-reading-challenge-2017-my.html\">Color Coded Reading Challenge<\/a>\u00a0&#8211; This is a tricky one: books with different colors in the title.<\/li>\n<li><a href=\"http:\/\/www.bookdragonslair.com\/2016\/12\/hosting-ebook-challenge.html\">eBook Reading Challenge<\/a>\u00a0&#8211; How many ebooks can you read in a year? I&#8217;m aiming for the Megabyte level of 25 books.<\/li>\n<li><a href=\"http:\/\/www.rosecityreader.com\/p\/the-european-reading-challenge-january_19.html\">European Reading Challenge<\/a>\u00a0&#8211; This challenge asks readers to choose books set in different European countries, or by authors from different European countries.<\/li>\n<li><a href=\"http:\/\/www.alexalovesbooks.com\/2016\/12\/flights-of-fantasy-reading-challenge.html\">Flights of Fancy Reading Challenge<\/a> &#8211; Choose how many fantasy books you want to read in this challenge.<\/li>\n<li><a href=\"https:\/\/myreadersblock.blogspot.com\/2016\/11\/follow-clues-mystery-challenge.html\">Follow the Clues Mystery Challenge<\/a>\u00a0&#8211; This creative challenge requires readers to create a chain of clues leading from book to book. I&#8217;ve created a chain of clues for ten books.<\/li>\n<li><a href=\"http:\/\/bronasbooks.blogspot.co.uk\/2016\/12\/2017-here-we-come-ready-or-not.html\">The Hobbit and The Lord of the Rings Read-along<\/a> &#8211; It doesn&#8217;t take much to get me to re-read anything by Tolkien, so I&#8217;m going to stretch my usual yearly reading goal to try and fit these four books in.<\/li>\n<li><a href=\"https:\/\/myreadersblock.blogspot.com\/2016\/11\/2017-mount-tbr-challenge-sign-up.html\">Mount TBR Challenge<\/a>\u00a0&#8211; TBR stands for &#8220;To Be Read,&#8221; as in trying to climb the mountain of unread books that I&#8217;ve collected over the years. I&#8217;m aiming to climb Mt. Vancouver by reading at least 36 books on my TBR list.<\/li>\n<li><a href=\"http:\/\/wormhole.carnelianvalley.com\/whats-in-a-name-2017-sign-up-page\/\">What&#8217;s In a Name Challenge<\/a>\u00a0&#8211; The six books I&#8217;ve chosen for this challenge have to fit the categories given in the challenge.<\/li>\n<li><a href=\"https:\/\/thebookshelfgargoyle.wordpress.com\/wild-goose-chase-reading-challenge-2017-sign-up-page\/\">Wild Goose Chase Challenge<\/a>\u00a0&#8211; This challenge requires readers to choose books in seven categories related to chases or hunts.<\/li>\n<li><a href=\"https:\/\/bibliophilica.wordpress.com\/2016\/12\/21\/its-the-most-wonderful-day-of-the-year-announcing-the-7th-annual-deal-me-in-short-story-reading-challenge\/\">Deal Me In Short Story Challenge<\/a>\u00a0&#8211; I&#8217;m really looking forward to this challenge in which I read one short story per week, randomly chosen from my list by choosing cards from a deck.<\/li>\n<\/ul>\n<p>You can follow my progress on the <a href=\"http:\/\/www.nicksenger.com\/onecatholiclife\/2017-reading-challenges\">2017 Reading Challenges<\/a> page, and I&#8217;ll be reviewing the books I read right here on <em>One Catholic Life<\/em>.
