I don’t read nearly as much poetry as I’d like to, but I recently read this lovely poem by St. Francis of Assisi and wanted to share it:<\/p>\n

When I Returned from Rome<\/h3>\n

A
\nbird took flight.
\nAnd a flower in a field whistled at me
\nas I passed.<\/p>\n

I drank
\nfrom a stream of clear water.
\nAnd at night the sky untied her hair and I fell asleep
\nclutching a tress
\nof God\u2019s.<\/p>\n

When I returned from Rome, all said
\n\u201cTell us the great news,\u201d<\/p>\n

and with great excitement, I did: \u201cA flower in a field whistled,
\nand at night the sky untied her hair and
\nI fell asleep clutching a
\nsacred tress \u2026\u201d<\/p>\n<\/blockquote>\n
