I really enjoyed this book. Cynthia Voigt set up a great mood for the
story. I felt like I was moving along with the characters--a part of the
story. Melisa C.

This book is slow at parts but it is pretty good overall. It tells
about the true meaning of friendship. Jonathan's cousin is very troubled because
of guilt of surviving World War II, and begins to pull Jonathan into his
world. Chelsea O.

This book was very well written and had a lot of symbolism. It made me
think of how my life was and the direction it was going in. Dicey
Tillerman is strong and does what she feels is right no matter what other people
may think of her. Melisa C.

This book made me think of how lucky I am to have loving, healthy
parents. It was hard to believe a mother could leave her kids, but it
happens a lot. The Tillermans' struggle to keep their family together
brings a tear to my eye. Melisa C.

I liked the book a lot. The only problem that I had was that it was
very unrealistic. It seems that it isn't possible that four kids could
make it so far with no money or parents. Allyson R.
